Palawan, here we come!!!

Visiting an island away from the city's busy life is one of the best things to distress and to loosen up one’s self. It is also a way to strengthen relationship among individuals and appreciate God’s astounding creation.

Hubby and I were truly blessed to have seen and witnessed the magnificence of PALAWAN! The island is a perfect place for friends, families and couples like us who wants to unwind from one’s daily workloads.

We got our promotional ticket from Cebu Pacific last March 2015 which cost 742.80 per person (round trip). Cool right?! It was booked through my husband’s workmates who were with us during the whole journey. We were in a group of 8. Travel period was September 9 until 13, 2015. At first, I was hesitant for the trip because September is already a rainy season. It might not be as fine as the summer weather. But to our surprise, we experienced a good one – rain showers poured on some days while sun shined on the rest of the days.  5 days is quite long too. And I am not used to travel with longer days since I am really attached to my 2 growing kids. Gladly, they understood us.

Then came the day for us to travel. We headed to Mactan International Airport 2 hours before our flight. We were both excited! See those faces! hahaha! :)

NOTE: No terminal fee from Mactan Cebu Airport to Puerto Princessa Palawan Airport.

Of course, a trip will never be complete without a quick photo sesh of the destination... So here's our Puerto Princessa shot with our terno outfit. Aren't we cute?! haha!

Our first itinerary was to head directly to El Nido. We got a great deal outside the airport and rented a van for P600.00 per person. Throughout the ride, we passed by huge mountains, lush green trees and numerous animals. We saw cute little children walking on the street wearing their uniforms. Some were on their way to school while others were on their way home. I wonder how far they hike just to learn and be educated like other ordinary city students are (sigh)...

Almost 80% of the roads en route to El Nido are concrete. But there are still some parts which are bumpy and uneven. So just get ready and prepare yourself to be stretched out due to zigzag and roller coaster-like roads. It may possibly entertain you or worst, annoy you. hehe..

TIPS:
  • take "bonamine", "white flower" or any menthol inhaler with you (this will be helpful during your travel)
  • bring mp3 / headphone to ease boredom
  • less intake of water (to avoid more van stops -will cause delay on your travel period)
  • bring candies

After 6 hours of waiting, we finally reached El Nido. We were sent directly to "Hotel Deo", our accommodation for the night, which is very near the bus and shuttle terminal. It was a great hotel where you can see the Taraw Cliff right in front of the balcony. Great thing it was away from the town proper because we get to relax the whole night. The room was spacious enough to occupy both of us. And yes, they had friendly and approachable staffs!

Just when we were settled in our room, we dined in at  "SEASLUGS". The restobar is located at the beachfront of El Nido. Food was moderate. They served grilled seafoods, soups and many others. It actually took 30 minutes to serve the food . But nevertheless, it didn't spoil our appetite since we we're starving at those times. Following that, we went back to our hotel, slept and prepared for the next days activity...
